 MANHID (1991)
The Eraserheads were part of the musical, "Manhid" at the University of the Philippines in Diliman. The play was written by Auraeus Solito (yes, the same guy who'd direct the "Ang Huling El Bimbo" music video five years later) under the pseudonym, 'Arturo Calo'. The 2-hour musical is based on Salman Rushdie's novel, "Midnight's Children" & "X-Men" comic books. The Eheads were the backing band and were doing about 30 songs (The most notable was "Kailan" as it was later recorded by the band and included on the 1994 album, "Circus"). The musical first premiered at the steps of UP's Palma Hall (aka 'AS Steps) sometime in 1991. It run for 4 weekends at UP and was later moved to the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines, Little Theater) for 1 weekend. It was presented by UP Tropa.
